As we continue to meet the challenges of not being able to get together in-person, we have plans for additional ways to reach out to each other and those in need.
One of those ways is our fundraiser for the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). TASK’s mission is to feed those who are hungry in the Trenton area and offer programs to encourage self-sufficiency and improve quality of life. It’s the only soup kitchen in the Trenton area open 5 days a week, including holidays. It serves two meals a day, and prepares more than 10,000 meals each week.
TASK also offers adult education, culinary and computer classes, job search and employment services, as well as case management services dealing with life issues such as homelessness, addiction and helping navigate social services.
We’ve made arrangements with TASK for our members and supporters to make financial donations on behalf of NJHN. When you visit their donation page, when you get to the bottom field for Additional Comments, please type New Jersey Humanist Network or NJHN there. That’s how they’ll keep track of our donations. You can also write a check with NJHN in the memo line and mail it to: Trenton Area Soup Kitchen, Attn: Finance Dept., PO Box 872, Trenton, NJ 08605-0872.
This fundraiser starts NOW and runs through December 23. We’re asking you to support NJHN with this fundraiser to help TASK provide food, hope and opportunity to those in need. Thank you!
