With all of life’s normal distractions, it can be easy to fall out of touch with friends. A holiday card is a great way to brighten a day in this dark winter season. After another year of limited face-to-face gatherings, we think friends will appreciate the gesture of writing and mailing cards to each other even more. It may seem natural to send digital cards, but it’s also nice to have colorful cards to display on the mantle or tape around a doorway.
So we’re announcing NJHN’s 2021 Holiday Card Exchange! Here’s how we’ll do this: The Holiday Card Exchange will be offered only to NJHN dues-paying members because home addresses will be provided to everyone who signs up to participate. With a few exceptions, we know each other, and if you’re a new member, this is a great way to get to know other members!
To participate, send an email to NJHN at [email protected], with your mailing name(s) and address and who you’d like named in the greeting (all family members you want to include). We’ll then compile the info and send it out to everyone signed up by December 5. Try to send out cards by December 15 so that receivers will have the opportunity to display the cards and time to send cards in return.
If you want to receive cards, please send cards. If Life decides you must have other plans, please let us know. You can send cards to as many on the list as you can or to everyone. We suggest secular cards that include Happy Holidays, Season’s Greetings, winter scenes, or even just Happy New Year!
If you’ve been collecting cards over the years (like those from charitable groups), now is a good time to spread those around.
Please email us photos of your displayed cards so that we can share them with each other and on social media.
You can become an NJHN member today and participate in our first ever Holiday Card Exchange. Visit our Membership page to join.
Thanks and Happy Holidays to all!
