Guest speaker Mike Rossi is Development Director for the Franklin Food Bank. NJHN has been donating both food and money to the Franklin Food Bank for many years. At our program meetings every month, members bring donations to the donation box at the library.
Mike will tell us about the challenges all food banks are facing in today’s world, who their clients are, the goal of providing healthier foods, as well as the progress and opportunities happening, with a focus on the Franklin Food Bank and its new, larger building and new market that allows clients to choose their own food based on their own needs.
NJHN will launch a one-month virtual food drive on November 3. Details on this will be announced at the meeting.
The program will start at 1:30 pm in the Community Room. Free and open to the public. Refreshments provided.
After the meeting, everyone is welcome to join us for an early dinner at 4 pm at Ruby Tuesday, 250 Davidson Ave, Somerset.
