This month we’ll show the documentary The Rights of Nature: A Global Movement.
Is Nature entitled to legal rights? This documentary, shot in Ecuador, New Zealand and Santa Monica, California, focuses on a growing environmental initiative where natural areas are given legal rights that can be enforced by people, governments and communities. As pressures on ecosystems mount and as conventional laws seem increasingly inadequate to address environmental degradation, communities, cities, regions and countries around the world are turning to a new legal strategy known as The Rights of Nature. A discussion will follow.
Release date: 2018; Runtime: 52 mins
The program will start at 1:30pm
