March Program - Nick Fish, American Atheists @ Franklin Township Library

This month our guest speaker is Nick Fish, President of American Atheists

What’s at Stake? Too often, our community loses sight of how the issues we care about affect people in the real world. It’s not just about winning a debate or being right, sometimes it’s about saving lives. American Atheists is leading the fight to show how religious privilege in our laws and in our society puts people at risk. From children waiting for their forever homes in our nation’s foster care system to women needing abortion services, real people pay the price when we allow religious exemptions into our laws and allow religious providers to discriminate. With lives on the line, we have to move the needle by building broad coalitions on the issues that matter to us and by getting involved in every community across the nation.

You can find American Atheists at Facebook, on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

The program will start at 1:30 pm in the Community Room. A Q&A session will follow the talk. Free and open to the public. Refreshments provided.

After the meeting, everyone is welcome to join us for an early dinner at 4 pm at Ruby Tuesday, 250 Davidson Ave, Somerset.
