New Jersey Humanist Network and Red Bank Humanists are teaming up to participate in Clean Ocean Action’s annual Beach Sweep on April 13, 2024.
Join us as we remove and record data about the debris we find at Bradley Beach in Monmouth County.
We’ll meet at 9 AM at the Clean Ocean Action table at the Gazebo at Ocean Ave & 5th Ave.
We’ll have signs and wear NJHN and RBH t-shirts/hats to help you find us. If you have trouble finding us, call or text Lisa Ridge at 732-425-5233. Parking is available on the street.
We’ll meet for lunch afterward and everyone is invited to join us.

*Identify New Jersey Humanist Network/Red Bank Humanists as your group/organization affiliation, select Monmouth County, and then the Bradley Beach-Gazebo on Ocean Ave & 5th Ave. Children are welcome to participate as long as they’re accompanied by an adult and must be registered individually.
If event details are changed by Clean Ocean Action, you’ll be notified at the email you’ve given.

**Please dress appropriately for the weather (including layers), wear closed-toe, hard-soled shoes for safety (no sandals), and bring work/gardening gloves, a hat, sunscreen and a reusable water bottle. Gloves will not be provided.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own bucket, bag, or other receptacle for trash collection to help COA reduce the use of plastic trash bags. All other materials to clean the beaches will be provided (data cards, pencils, white bags for recycling). If you’ve got your own trash picker tool, bring it.
We’re asked to stay off the dunes and always be respectful of the wildlife.
For four decades volunteers make their way to the ocean, bays, waterways and beaches twice a year to clean up debris. The data recorded will be analyzed and presented in an annual report produced by Clean Ocean Action, which identifies pollution problems and educates citizens on the quantities and types of marine debris. The cumulative data will be used to advance federal, state, and local programs to reduce litter and protect the marine environment.
