Dear NJHN Members,
Each year, NJHN holds an election for our Board of Directors, the governing body that makes programming and financial decisions with our membership contributions. Board members are elected for a two-year term. The current Board has approved a slate of candidates presented by the Nominating Committee, and we now offer that slate to our dues-supporting members.
NJHN is a public 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit corporation. Your membership entitles you to voting rights for elections, bylaws, corporation changes, and other matters that our Board of Directors may decide are best determined by our members.
This year, we have four open positions on the Board, and we have four current Board members seeking re-election. Therefore, this will not be a contested election. However, our Bylaws call for us to hold an annual election, even by acclamation. You can vote for up to four candidates: Gary Brill, Adriana Cordal, Robert Lovatt, and Joe Vincenzino.
A candidate statement for each candidate is available on our website at:
NJHN Board of Directors Candidate Statements for 2025-2027 Election Term
(Continuing Board members whose terms don’t expire until 2026 are: Tamar Kieval Brill, Ronda Cluff, Brenda LaDuke, Sue Landry, Rhonda Marker, and Lisa Ridge.)
Voting begins on May 24, 2025, and current members will receive an email from OpaVote.com with a dedicated link to the secure voting site (so please check your spam folder). Candidates are listed in random order and your vote selections are anonymous. The deadline for submitting your vote is Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The voting site will be closed at that time. If you have an election-related question prior to voting, please send an email to njhn.org@gmail.com with NJHN Board Election in the subject line.
The results of the election will be announced at our hybrid Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Sunday, June 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM (details coming soon). All members are encouraged to attend.
Thank you.
