Each year, NJHN holds an election for its Board of Directors, the governing body that makes programming and financial decisions with our membership contributions. Board members are elected for a two-year term, so that in any given year about half the terms of Board members expire. The Nominating Committee presents a slate of candidates for approval by the Board, followed by an election by dues-paying NJHN members.
In recent years, we’ve held this election at our summer picnic, but we will be conducting the election electronically starting this year, using a secure online voting site called OpaVote. Each member will receive an email from NJHN with a dedicated link to the voting site, where ranked choice voting instructions will be provided.
There are seven candidates for six vacancies on the Board. A candidate statement for each candidate is available at this link as a PDF:
NJHN 2021-2022 Slate of Candidates
(Continuing Board members whose terms expire in 2022 are: Tamar Kieval Brill, Brenda LaDuke, Karen Levinson, Linda Mastellone, Lisa Ridge and Tim Ridge.)
Voting begins on May 30, 2021. The deadline for submitting your vote is Saturday, June 26, 2021, at 12:00 PM. The voting site will be closed at that time. If you have an election-related question prior to voting, please send an email to [email protected] with NJHN Board Election in the subject line.
The results of the election will be announced at our online Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Sunday, June 27, 2021, at 1:30 PM. All members are encouraged to attend.
Thank you.
