WEATHER UPDATE: While we do have a covered pavilion and we’ve said we’ll have the picnic rain or shine, we’re aware of the possibility of a thunderstorm with lightning and an open/exposed picnic pavilion is not a safe place during lightning. So we’re watching the weather and will make a decision by 9:30 AM tomorrow whether to cancel the picnic or not. If it’s just rain until late afternoon, we’ll be there! Come at 12 and see if we make it to 3 PM. Bring an umbrella for getting from the parking lot to the pavilion. And maybe shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
The grills are outside the pavilion, so if your plans are to bring grillables, maybe rethink that just in case. And bring some leftover containers, especially for the special 30th Anniversary cake we’ll have.
If you haven’t received an email by around 9:30, we’ve decided to go ahead with the picnic. If we cancel, we’ll send an email and also post a cancellation on our website. And of course, you will decide for yourself if you feel it’s safe to attend. And we want you to be safe, that’s the first priority!
