UPDATE: WE’VE RAISED $862 FOR CFBNJ so far, and we don’t have to close the fundraiser at any specific time, so please feel free to make a donation at any time as long as our fundraising page is still active! Maybe we can even reach our original $1,000 goal! THANK YOU to all of our donors during the Secular Week of Action!
——————————————————————————————————————————————————-
We’re announcing the launch of our virtual fundraising campaign for the Community Foodbank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) as part of the 2022 Secular Week of Action (SWoA).
SWoA has become an annual activity now. It originally started as a one-day secular response to the National Day of Prayer on the first Thursday in May, but has now evolved into a week of action for secular groups to engage in community service activities. Themes are usually around alleviating poverty, homelessness, hunger, and meeting basic needs. This year’s theme is Taking Action for the Unhoused.
Which is why NJHN has chosen to raise money for CFBNJ, a member of Feeding America® which has been delivering food, help, and hope across the state for over 45 years. CFBNJ provides 85 million meals of nutritious food annually through its network of more than 800 community partners throughout the 15 New Jersey counties it serves (north, central and south), addressing hunger through workforce development initiatives, nutrition education, and connection to critical resources.
We’ve set a goal of raising $1,000 in two weeks. We’re building a team to spread the word about our fundraising campaign and, of course, we’ll need donations! Please visit our NJHN Team fundraising page and sign up as a team member, and then share your page with your family, friends, co-workers, and social media contacts to help us raise money for the Community Foodbank of New Jersey during our Secular Week of Action event. We appreciate all the support you can give!
We’ll announce the final result of this fundraising campaign at our Annual Membership Meeting on Sunday, May 22, 2022. Please join us to learn more about NJHN’s work to provide a community for Humanists and information about Humanism in New Jersey!
