NJHN 2023-2025 Board of Directors Election & Candidate Statements

Dear NJHN Members,

NJHN is conducting our 2023-2025 Board of Directors Election.

Each year, NJHN holds an election for our Board of Directors, the governing body that makes programming and financial decisions with our membership contributions. Board members are elected for a two-year term. The Nominating Committee presents a slate of candidates for approval by the Board, followed by an election by dues-paying members.

NJHN is a public 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit corporation. Your membership entitles you to voting rights for elections, bylaws, corporation changes, and other matters that our Board of Directors may decide are best determined by our members.

This year, we have seven open positions on the Board, and we have four current Board members seeking re-election and one new candidate. Therefore, this will not be a contested election. However, our Bylaws call for us to hold an annual election, even by acclamation. You can vote for up to five candidates.

A candidate statement for each candidate is available on our website at:
NJHN Board of Directors Candidate Statements for 2023-2025 Election Term

(Continuing Board members whose terms don’t expire until 2024 are: Tamar Kieval Brill, Michael Cluff, Michael Jacobsen, Brenda LaDuke, Sue Landry, Rhonda Marker, Lisa Ridge, and Gwenn Seemel.)

Voting begins on May 27, 2023, and current members will receive an email from OpaVote.com with a dedicated link to the voting site (so please check your spam folder).  The deadline for submitting your vote is Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 12:00 PM. The voting site will be closed at that time. If you have an election-related question prior to voting, please send an email to [email protected] with NJHN Board Election in the subject line.

The results of the election will be announced at our hybrid Annual Membership Meeting scheduled for Sunday, June 25, 2023, at 1:30 PM. All members are encouraged to attend.

Thank you.
